Paris Motor Show 2010: Hyundai ix20

Oct 12, 2010

Hyundai presents this year, at Paris Motor Show, the world premiere of the new B-class MPV, named Hyundai ix20. The new Hyundai variant is not a “minivan box”, as many believed, adopting, actually a very dynamic look and a sporty profile- confirming the brand’s reputation of a progressive, modern manufacturer. Created in the European design center of Germany, the new Hyundai ix20 is the second European model after Hyundai ix35 that embraces a new fluid and simple design language. The denomination of Hyundai ix20 reflects the versatility of a newfangled crossover vehicle, which is intended to provide a pleasant driving experience for the whole family. Although at first the manufacturers questioned the use of letter “x” in the name of the vehicle, Hyundai officials said that the badge would be found on all models, not just one those with four-wheel drive. For the off-road vehicles, the Korean manufacturers will use number “5”- as in the new Hyundai ix35. Hyundai ix20 promises to have the lowest fuel consumption in its class and also, low carbon dioxide emissions. The range of engines for Hyundai ix20 includes a gasoline engine of 1.6 liter developing 125 bhp and a smaller 1.4-liter unit releasing 89 bhp. At this moment there are indications that Hyundai ix20 will also be available in a diesel variant. Hyundai ix20 customers will benefit from the Five Year Triple Care Warranty Program developed by the brand. Moreover, the car will be equipped with Bluetooth, ESP and a Start/Stop system for lower fuel consumption. In terms of safety, Hyundai will accept no...

Video: Hyundai ix35 Commercials inspired by Top Gear

Really cool new spot dedicated to the Hyundai ix35: the reference to Top Gear is quite explicit and ironic, riding between homage and mockery. Top Deer is led by a wildebeest, a hamster, a turtle and a deer, animalistic depictions of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and the legendary Stig (The Stag). What we want to prove and that the car is to “test man”. Now we await the response from Top Gear, but can’t help test the car. Pending their road test, read ours! Auto China 2010: Hyundai – Verna in China / Accent in EU

Apr 26, 2010

Hyundai introduces new sedan Verna at the show in Beijing, also known as Accent. The car is inspired by the lines of the Sonata sedan coupe, towards which offers smaller dimensions and a larger glass area. With a length of 4.34 meters, will be marketed in China (since July)  with 105 hp 4.1 gasoline engine and 1.6 with 120 bhp 4-speed automatic transmission, while a 5-speed manual version is reserved solely for entry. And ‘Accent logical to think that, once made in Europe and other markets will receive a wider range of engines with diesel engines and possibly a hybrid, as happened with her older sister Sonata Hybrid. In addition and in the design, Hyundai is taking avant-garde new brand image. Hyundai‘s designers say they have tried to give him a four-door coupé-new model, which gives them a pioneer in its segment. Overall achievement is questionable, many might say that style is too heavily loaded and a model family man advantage with accents. Form seems to have been chosen to serve and safety, the new Verna / Accent, Hyundai is willing to get five stars in safety tests.
