Land Rover confirmed that the official launch of the 2014 Range Rover Sport Hybrid version will take place at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA – Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung). The new model will be presented together with a new diesel version. After enjoying a spectacular launch at the 2013 New York International Motor Show (Jacob Javits Convention Center, NYC) and a warm welcoming from the public, the new 2014 Range Rover Sport generation has prepared a surprise for this year’s autumn: 2014 Range Rover Sport Hybrid. 2014 Range Rover Sport Hybrid Engine A British company official confirmed the launch of a hybrid version in the autumn of this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2013). Volvo has developed a particular kinetic energy recovery, which is able to reduce the fuel consumption by 25%, and the solution is lighter than an equivalent hybrid system. Volvo has worked more than two years at a KERS system for series cars. Besides the fact that it can reduce the fuel consumption by up to 25%, it succeeds in giving a turbocharged four-cylinder engine an extra performance by providing assistance at acceleration, which leads to a sure behavior expected from a superior V6 engine. The new KERS system from Volvo, whose debut has not yet confirmed for any series model, presents an innovative flywheel mounted at the rear axle level. This flywheel can reach a speed of up to 60,000 rpm and is coupled to a CVT transmission and a special clutch. Americans from SSC announced they had completed all engine tests needed for a series version of the SSC Tuatara, a V8 twin-turbo 6.9 liter unit which will equip the new Tuatara, completing the 1,350 hp supercar that promises to dethrone the Bugatti Veyron. With the latest model on the shelf, the American manufacturer is hoping to achieve the title of Fastest Production Car in the World, at a reasonable price of 1,3 million dollars! For this to be possible, the American supercar has to exceed a top speed of 430.98 km/h recorded by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport a while ago. Shelby Supercars has already sold 10 units of Tuatara, of course to clients located in Dubai.
