Weekend that just ended saw a lot of important events for motorsport fans. After Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monaco, the second most important event took place at the Nurburgring. This years Nurburgring 24 hours endurance race brought the BMW factory team on podium, which was absent from the competition for five years.
Jorg Muller (DE), Augusto Farfus (BR), Uwe Alzen (DE) and Pedro Lamy (PT) were the pilots who have orchestrated a dramatic victory (after 154 laps) for the Bavarian brand that has aligned at the race start BMW M3 GT2 version. Last hours of exciting competition have been charged for team members because of the gearbox, which yielded.
“When we approached the end of the fourth stage of the gearbox cracked. As you are running the problem became more pronounced. In these circumstances, our priority was to keep the race car. In the end though, everything was done beautifully for us” said Jorg Muller.
The main competitor in the fight for victory proved countrymen from Porsche, who ran the new electric-hybrid wheel Porsche 911 GT3 Hybrid. Nothing was missing from the landscape Audi team composed of Bronzel Mark, Luke Ludwig, Dennis Rostek and Markus Winkelhock succeeding in ranking third.
