F1: Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand Prix!

Lewis Hamilton‘s victory in Montreal at the end of a spectacular race and Jenson Button on the second place completed another double for McLaren Mercedes. Last place on the podium was occupied by Fernando Alonso.

McLaren‘s strategy for starting the race on the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit with supersoft tires was finally a winning decision in front of the rivals from Red Bull Racing, who faced many problems with tire wear.

At the end of spectacular duels with Sebastian Vettel, and especially with Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton past the finish line first scorring the second consecutive victory this season and third consecutive success in Montreal, taking the lead and in the overall standings.

McLaren Mercedes showed that became the main threat to Red Bull in the race for the title, especially as Jenson Button completed the British double in Montreal. Last podium position was occupied by Fernando Alonso, who also showed that Ferrari is on a upward slope.

Finally, Vettel and Mark Webber had to settle for places 4 and 5, their performance was affected crucially by the strategy used in the tire.

In addition, Webber has been disrupted and the penalty of five grid positions, which managed to finish the race ahead of Nico Rosberg (GP Mercedes) and Robert Kubica (Renault), and at last managed to establish the best time race. Rating was completed by Sebastian Buemi (Toro Rosso), Vitantonio Liuzzi and Adrian Sutil (both Force India), all three overcoming Michael Schumacher till the end of the race.

Felipe Massa (Ferrari) finished only 15th place after an incident with Liuzzi at the race start and after a duel with Schumacher to the end, when the front wing was damaged.

  1. I really can’t see LH winning it this year. Too many mistakes and too much bad luck. There is always next season though…

  2. Anybody else thinks Jenson Button can do it in Japan? I think the Red Bulls will have problems on Sunday and Vettel will be out of it again.
