F1 2013: Sebastian Vettel Won for the First time the German Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel claimed victory in the F1 race held near his barbeque area, at the Nurburgring track, after managing to keep Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean behind in his last going laps.

F1 Grand Prix of Germany gave one of the most exciting race endings of the season, with a three-battle for victory between Sebastian Vettel and the two drivers fighting for team Lotus.

The triple world champion has had an excellent start going past Lewis Hamilton, who had left from pole position. Although initially seeming to be heading for a mild stroke, the German had to face successive attacks from Romain Grosjean and, finally, Kimi Raikkonen.

Grosjean kept fifth position at the start and was the big winner of the first entry at the pits, back on the track right behind Vettel. Hamilton and Raikkonen were stuck behind Nico Rosberg, who was on a different strategy.

The Frenchman showed signs that it would initiate an attack, but the fight was postponed as the Safety Car entered the circuit on lap 24 after the knock out suffered by Jules Bianchi (Marussia) when his engine went out!

The situation still seemed to be favorable for Grosjean, but the Frenchman was unable to threaten Vettel’s leadership and, after a new stop at the pits, was forced to easily cede #2 place to his teammate, Raikkonen, who was in a final stint on soft tires.

Even if the soft tires are up to one second faster than the medium tires, Vettel managed to keep Raikkonen behind with over one second and crossed the finish line first. The German won the first victory of his career on a circuit built in Germany as well as the first win in a day of July, while Raikkonen and Grosjean completed the podium.
