Not all cyclists are this noticeable says Volvo in the last commercials of the Swedish brand. The context remains to be discovered in the three videos of the campaign.
After a series of press releases as serious as can be, leisurely explaining the function and utility of its new active safety systems, Volvo decided to promote one of them with a few of funny videos. It is about the Volvo cyclist detection with full auto-brake technology that brakes the car if the driver is distracted and ready to hit a fallen cyclist or a cyclist who tries to cut him off.
The three short video commercials have a unitary message: “Not all cyclists are this noticeable.” The idea behind the videos being that the car “sees” using radars and special cameras this category of road users.
