Hennessey Performance Engineering tuning house said it built the fastest car in the world named Hennessey Venom GT. This monster, built by American engineers, accelerated when from 0-186 miles/h (300km/h) in just 13.63 seconds, a performance that will be included in the Guinness Book of Records.

The Hennessey Venom GT, powered by a 7 liter V8 engine produces 1244 horsepower, weighs 2743 lbs (1.244kg) and broke the previous record for “fastest accelerating car” held by the Swedish model, Koenigsegg Agera, of just 14.53 seconds. Hennessey Venom GT car will be produced in limited edition, only 29 copies, and will be sold for a modest price – $ 1.2 million. The record was set near Houston, Texas, on an airport runway called Ellington. The car, driven by John Kiewicz, made two runs, one with backwind, 3.2 knots (6 km/h), the other against wind – 5.4 knots (10 km/h) At first attempt, the speed of 300 km/h was achieved in 13.18 seconds and 14.08 seconds for the second. Average of 13.56 seconds was approved as a Guinness World Record.
