Fiat has chosen to promote the launch of 500 in the U.S. in the most Italian manner possible: through a clip full of emotion and symbols. The music is Vivaldi’s Concerto in D Major, Rv 228: Allegro remixed by an LA-based electronic band.
Fiat will sell in U.S. two models: Fiat 500 and Fiat 500c. The Fiat 500 (Cinquecento) is “sleek, simple, functional, user-friendly and inspired, it delivers fashionable Italian flair, innovations and world-class craftsmanship to the American market.” Fiat 500c cabrio “combines open-air freedom and driving enjoyment. As a contemporary solution to the famous canvas roof of the original Cinquecento, the 500c features a premium dual layer multi-position power-retractable cloth top that is designed to deliver all-season driving pleasure and a wide glass backlight to retain the same visibility as the hatchback.”
After the small 500, Fiat is preparing to expand the range on the U.S. market. Success of the scoupe version, which recorded more orders than originally anticipated, has determined the launch of the convertible derivative as well as plans to introduce the performance alternative, Abarth, along with an electric version.
