The main attraction of the Audi stand was undoubtedly the new 2012 Audi A3, the compact car designed to “fight” BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class.

The new Audi A3 doesn’t bring a revolutionary or spectacular front design, adopting just a new face, reminiscent of the Audi family from recent years. Still, we are seeing a new rear bumper, and especially, new technical solutions that till now seemed impossible to add on the premium compact range.

Under the bonnet, the 2012 Audi A3 comes with three engines at the Geneva Motor Show. We are talking about two petrol units and a diesel engine. Both gasoline engines are TFSI, with a 1.4 liters that launches 122 horsepower (91 kW / 124 PS) and a 1.8 liters with 180 hp(134 kW / 183 PS). The 1.8 unit also has a S-tronic seven-speed gear box as a standard. The diesel is a 2.0 TDI engine with 143 hp(107 kW / 145 PS).

Next to this compact model in the Audi stand at Geneva 2012 was the 2012 Audi A6 Allroad quattro. Already presented as a world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show 2012, the 2012 A6 Allroad only showed up for its European debut.

On the old continent, the new A6 Allroad will be available with four engines, three diesels and one TFSI petrol unit, a 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops up to 310 horsepower (231 kW / 314 PS) and 440 Nm (324 lb/ft), which gives this off-road car enough resources to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.9 seconds.

The RS performance division also had an intense activity in recent months to be able to bring at Geneva Motor Show 2012 the new Audi RS4 Avant and 2012 Audi TT-RS Plus Coupe and Roadster.

The Roadster is an ultra potent version of the already popular Audi TT-RS. This model only brings 20 more horsepower and the maximum power was raised to 360 hp (268 kW / 365 PS) for this new version. The torque has also been increased by 15 Nm, 465 Nm (343 lb/ft) total. Maximum speed was limited for the 2012 Audi TT-RS Plus to 280 km/h (174 mph) for both Coupe and Roadster version of this model.

Audi decided to revive their sporting emblem, with a new A4 model, so after a long wait, the fans of the brand from Ingolstadt have again an RS product ready to battle its Mercedes AMG and BMW M rivals. First, the Germans will start with the Audi RS4 Avant, because this type of bodywork is very popular in Germany and Western Europe.

The 2012 Audi RS4 Avant comes powered, as expected, with the V8 already seen at his RS5 brother and will initially be launched as a touring model, given the appreciation they had for this type of bodywork in Germany.

Audi presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 all the details about the 2012 Audi RS4 Avant. This is the most powerful model ever built on the current A4 as the old Audi RS4 model was highly appreciated by the Audi fans. Luckily for them, the reincarnation of this sporty model is here!

The 2012 Audi RS4 is characterized by an aggressive trapezoidal grille and “very generous sized” symmetrical discharges. The interior is dominated by its sporty steering wheel and carbon and aluminum inserts.

Under the bonnet, the new Audi RS4 has a V8 4.2-literFSI engine with direct-injection. The power output is 420 horsepower (313 kW / 426 PS) at 8,250 rpm. The torque is 430 Nm (317 lb/ft) at 6,000 rpm and the transmission is ensured by an automatic S-Tronic gearbox with double clutch and seven-speeds that will bring out the best from all four wheels.

Top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) and acceleration from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) is done in just 4.7 seconds.
