Cadillac knows that if it wants to jeopardize the reputation of the premium European brands must pay particular attention to Europe. Because they wanted to have something to fight back the European models domination, the Americans have developed the new 2013 Cadillac ATS on the famous Nurburgring circuit in an effort to get a better ride for the rear drive sedan.
The American engineers have tried to give birth to a machine that does not exceed 1,545 kg (3,400 lbs), distributed 50% on the front axle and 50% rear axle.
2013 Cadillac ATS engines. The new ATS debuts with a 2.5 liters four-cylinder gasoline engine, capable of developing 200 horsepower (150 kW / 203 PS). For those who want more power the overseas manufacturer also has a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower (202 kW / 274 PS).
Top of the range will be provided by a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which can reach 318 horsepower (237 kW / 323 PS). All three engines can be ordered alongside a 6-speed manual transmission or a Hydra Matic 6-speed automatic transmission.
Responsible for the roadholding is the Magnetic Ride Control system, which constantly adjusts the suspension to road conditions, ensuring either a comfortable driving or a sporty one.
Inside, customers will enjoy the new multimedia CUE system, which allows the management of all information using an 8-inch LCD. Optionally, Cadillac offers the Head-Up Display function.
