Used cars vs. new cars

Used cars vs. new cars

Apr 17, 2012

The new 2012 number plates came out last month. This time of the year always sees a boost of new car sales because of this, but with the rise of used car sales induced by increased trust in the process is it more economic and in fact easier to buy second hand? With the state of the economy in mind one would assume that this may be the case but what are the trends of British car buying since the economic down fall? We first need to think of the concerns car buyers take into account before purchase. Fuel efficiency is always a concern as more fuel efficient cars and those with fewer emissions such as electric cars, are seeing less penalties on road tax and congestion charges. A more efficient car is also better for running costs, another major factor in vehicle purchase. So the newer car, one would expect, the less costs in the long run. Despite this, used car sales are still on the rise; it seems that the initial price of a car is still the biggest pull for buyers. Smaller used cars for example, may be more efficient than larger newer ones thanks to the way they are run and insurance on a smaller engine will always be cheaper. A good car history check by Auto Trader on a used car will let any buyer know just how much value they are getting for their money. With the harsher restrictions being added to the big used car retailers, the buyer can be more confident in their purchase on these terms. About driving accidents

About driving accidents

Mar 22, 2012

A driving accident is something that anyone on the roads can experience – even the safest and most responsible of drivers, and the resultant injuries can be anything from something uncomfortable but comparatively minor, such as whiplash, to serious injuries to areas like the internal organs and the head. What Causes Car Accidents? While there can be a number of reasons why driving accidents occur, if you are involved in an accident as a result of the negligence of another party – either another driver, or a mechanic who serviced your car – you may wish to pursue a claim for damages for any injuries or distress you suffered as a result. Aside from the physical injuries that it is possible to experience as a result of a driving accident, there can also be significant emotional and financial injury to consider. What to do after a driving accident? Those who have been in driving accidents have often suffered lasting psychological effects, including a fear of getting back behind the wheel, following an accident of this nature. The financial problems that a driving accident can lead to are also sometimes very severe, as there can be medical bills for any injury treatment received, the costs of repairing the vehicle itself, and any loss of earnings resulting from an inability to work due to injuries received. A combination of these financial pressures can be a huge worry for driving accident victims, which in turn adds to the psychological strain they may be under. This is why it is entirely reasonable for anyone put in this position as a result of the negligence of someone...

Car accident – Injury claim

Car accident – Injury claim

Mar 10, 2012

Being involved in a car crash can be extremely traumatic and even relatively minor car accidents can cause both physical and psychological injuries. If you are unfortunately involved in an incident on the roads, you may be able to make a car accident claim for any injuries that you have suffered. We all consider ourselves great drivers. Still, sometimes the driver behind us provokes accidents that could not be avoided even by the most experienced drivers. In such a case, usually when the vehicle has been hit in the rear, you will end up with a common type of injury which is a whiplash. This is a non-medical term describing a range of injuries to the neck caused by a sudden acceleration of the head that may lead to tearing of muscles, ligaments or other soft-tissues. Only in the U.K. more than 430,000 people asked for whiplash compensation back in 2010, accounting for 14% of every driver’s premium. Therefore, whiplash is probably the most common injury associated with motor vehicle accidents as it stands out as one of the main injuries covered by the car insurers (75% of the UK’s motor insurance claims). The amount of whiplash compensation paid by the insurers depends on several factors related to the severity of the accident. Others include facts such as the recovery period, and whether or not there are any permanent residual long term symptoms. The most common types of personal injury claims are road traffic accidents. As long as you are sure that the accident was not your fault and you can recall sufficient details about it to launch a claim, then you can make an...

Whiplash Compensation Claims

Road traffic accidents (RTA) are common in the UK, and we have to accept the fact that one day in our lives we will experience some sort of a personal injury as a cause of a RTA. The percentage of car users being injured in road accidents has risen. Pedal cyclists and motorcycle accidents constitute 5 to 20%. The Road safety measures are very well implemented in the UK than other EU countries. The UK road traffic accident rate is considerably lower than the accident rates of other countries like US, Australia and Japan. Can I Claim? If you have suffered an injury in an accident, however major or minor your injuries, then you should consider the possibility of making a claim in law. Basically if someone (or something) else was, at least in part, responsible for your injury then you have a possible personal injury claim. If you have a possible claim for compensation then you will need to speak with a solicitor. It doesn’t matter if you are a driver, passenger, or a pedestrian. If you were involved in a road accident in the past 3 years, you can claim as long as it was not your fault. The solicitor will help you get compensation for whiplash injuries, broken limbs, head injuries and other injuries received during an accident. Whiplash claims Even seemingly insignificant road traffic accidents can give rise to a difficult, troublesome and potentially long-lasting medical condition that is commonly known as “whiplash“. Unfortunately, whiplash injuries are quite common in car accidents and motorcycle accidents, most notably in cases where one vehicle collides with...

How to drive safely when the roads are slippery

Jan 18, 2012

While motorists are generally cautioned to avoid driving as much as possible during the worst of the winter weather, sometimes it is simply impossible to avoid making journeys. Therefore to minimise the risk of accidents on roads made dangerously slippery by combinations of snow, rain and freezing cold, it is vital to know how to drive correctly in these conditions and what areas of your vehicle to have prepared in order to cope with them. If you have had an accident and are wanting to make a head injury claim contact www.theheadinjurysite.com Most important These are some things to remember in order to drive safely on slippery roads: One of the first things to remember is to keep your speed levels down as low as you practically can manage when driving on such surfaces, as the faster you are driving the harder it will be for the tyres to grip and brake on slippery surfaces. There is a far greater likelihood of the car skidding in such conditions and if it does, you need to be able to brake effectively in time to prevent collisions. You should also try to avoid sharp steering or braking when on slippery roads, instead looking to achieve a slow, smooth reduction in speed – especially when it comes to corners and bends in the road. Another thing to consider is the distance between your vehicle and the others on the road, as you should ideally look to increase these distances when on icy, slippery roads. It is preferable to have in the region of ten times the kind of distance between yourself and the vehicle in front, when driving in such conditions. While this may seem...
