BMW presented the first images of the Z4’s version of competition. The development of a 480 hp 4.0 liter V8 engine derived from that of the M3 and is equipped with a six-speed sequential transmission. Germans at BMW have unveiled the official pictures and technical details of the competing versions of the Z4‘s, which receives the suffix GT3. This model is based on the current generation BMW Z4 E89 and is equipped with 4.0 liter V8 engine that is equipped M3 E92, modified to develop around 480 hp. Price of this model is 298,000 euros (~427,000$). The V8 of this model is equipped with ECU unit 408, which helps develop special performances and other control devices are controlled by Power400 unit. Z4 GT3’s transmission is a six-speed sequential and is developed for motorsport. First team that will present the car for competition BMW Z4 GT3 is Schubert Motorsport. Images attached to this article were made at Paul Ricard circuit, during preliminary tests to set the model of competition based on Z4. For now, those from BMW have announced the possibility of launching a street version of this model, but this is not necessarily excluded, the best example being BMW M3 GT3 and its street version – M3 GTS.
