Jaguar and Land Rover have introduced several novelties at Geneva Motor Show 2011. While Jaguar has come up with the most powerful car in its history, the Jaguar XKR-S, Land Rover has launched a hybrid, alongside with the most expensive Range Rover model in the range. The British concern Jaguar Land Rover stand at Geneva 2011, presented a series of novelties. Just because they have been bought by Tata Motors didn’t let the British to forget their heritage and celebrated 50 years since the release of Jaguar E-Type. What better way to celebrate this anniversary than a modern successor to the XK-E, the one and only Jaguar XKR-S. For Jaguar that is the most powerful supercar in history, but not the fastest ever made. Jaguar XKR-S is equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 engine offering 550 hp and 680 Nm. Engine enables XKR-S coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and accelerating from 0-160 km/h in just 8.6 seconds. The maximum speed of Jaguar XKR-S is 300 km/h. Maserati has a new novelty at Geneva Motor Show 2011 - it’s GranCabrio the sports version. Maserati GranCabrio Sport comes with improved performance, but with a better fuel consumption. The Maserati stand at Geneva 2011 hosted the official launch of the most powerful convertible model ever developed by the Italian brand. It’s the new Maserati GranCabrio Sport and it gets an extra 10 horsepower and 20 Nm, the 4.7-liter V8 engine developing now 450 hp and 510 Nm. GranCabrio Sport benefits from the contribution of MC-Auto Shift automatic transmission, which debuted last year on the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT-S. With it, Maserati GranCabrio Sport manages to reach a maximum speed of 285 km/h, while the average mixed fuel consumption announced by the producer decreases by 6%. Maserati GranCabrio Sport brings some aesthetic changes to the classic design version of the Italian sports car. We talk of the new aerodynamic appendix and ornaments that were previously chromed and now become black. The new Maserati GranCabrio Sport will be available starting this summer on the markets, the model’s prices are not known at this time. The most powerful Audi R8 V10 in the world made its debut at Geneva Motor Show 2011 in the MTM stand. The model provides 777 hp and 888 Nm and costs 400,000 euro excluding tax. The tuners from MTM specializing in models modifications sold by the Volkswagen Group, presented at the Geneva 2011 two special exhibits. The first is an Audi R8 V10 biturbo engine, which develops 777 hp and 888 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds. Acceleration from 0-200 km/h takes place in 9.37 seconds, while the sprint to 300 km/h is achieved in 19.42 seconds. MTM Audi R8 maximum speed is 350 km/h. To control it, MTM equipped the strongest Audi R8 V10 in the world with a large rear spoiler, which serves to increase downforce on the rear axle. The exterior received a set of 20 inch alloy wheels and carbon fiber elements. Also, the model was painted a special shade of silver, which has a chrome finish. The braking system has been enhanced with a set of eight-piston calipers, and MTM Audi R8 V10 will cost over 400,000 euro. Mercedes-Benz has brought two new stars at Geneva Motor Show 2011: the brand new C-Klasse Coupe and the new generation of the SLK, in a world premiere. Mercedes C-Klasse Coupe is the first member of this body version of the C-Klasse range, after an unsuccessful attempt with already deceased CLC hatchback. Mercedes C-Klasse Coupe wants to be a new rival for BMW 3 Series and Audi A5, an receives the interior and engine from its sedan brother. The best engine offered is a V6 with 306 hp and 370 Nm enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. The average consumption of that version is 7 liters per hundred kilometers. New generation of Mercedes SLK has appeared alongside his younger brother in Geneva. With more than three weeks before its debut at Geneva, the model was already in Europe and have announced prices for all markets that will work. For those who have not yet heard, Mercedes SLK starts at 40,300 euros with VAT included in UK. IED design house will present at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 a futuristic concept bearing the Abarth logo. It is anticipating an electric-powered sport model: IED Abarth Scorp-Ion. At the project big names from industry suppliers contributed such as Pirelli and OZ, but also famous designers such as Luca Borgogno (senior designer Pininfarina) and Luigi Giampaolo (Maserati designer), who supervised the work of seven young students (of Master Arts in Transportation Design) who draw the design lines. As the named implied IED Abarth Scorp-Ion is meant to be a sports model, fully electric, measuring 401 cm long, 190 cm wide, 119 cm tall and has a wheelbase of 235 cm. According to its creators, IED Scorp-Ion is guided by a simple principle, introduced by Abarth “sportsmanship in compact form“. Propulsion of the Abarth Scorp-Ion concept is provided by four electric motors located on each wheel and kept alive by Lithium-ion batteries. Battery pack is positioned behind the two seats and contribute to a very low center of gravity. Novitec Rosso Ferrari 458 Italia is the new sex symbol at the Geneva Motor Show 2011, a total success for the tuners from Novitec Rosso. Novitec Rosso presented at Geneva Motor Show a very special tuning dedicated to the Ferrari 458 Italia. The V8 engine has been so far amended only in a gentle way, with a new carbon fiber airbox and an Inconel exhaust with metal catalysts and butterfly valve that saves 21 kg (46 lbs) of the original Ferrari 458 Italia. With a new ECU mapping, the total gain is 39 hp, bringing the maximum power at 609 hp and 9100 rpm, with a torque of 569 Nm (v 540 Nm) at 5400 rpm.
