Brabus 800 Roadster – Design & Engine & Price
At the first eye contact, Brabus 800 Roadster impresses with its sporty character, emphasized by the aerodynamic bodywork, developed in the wind tunnel. All components are made of carbon fiber and come to increase downforce and cooling the engine and brakes.
For this purpose, the hood received a massive air intake gap, while the front fenders and side skirts now enjoy generous openings. The spoiler was also modified for an improved air intake. On the back, Brabus mounted a deflector, also made from carbon fiber, in which four tailpipes were merged. The standard 19-inch wheels, were replaced with some custom-tailored 20-inch Brabus Monoblock R Platinum Edition forged wheels, able to offer resistance and extremely low mass.
For the interior, Brabus offers numerous possibilities for customization. The aluminum side skirts and exclusive leather upholstery and Alcantara, including the speedometer that indicates a value of 360 km/h (223 mph) and precious wood inserts.
The main changes brought by Brabus 800 Roadster are under the hood, where the Germans sought to better reflect the sporty spirit of the vehicle. The twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine received a number of important changes that have totaled the power up to 800 horsepower (588 kW), hence the Brabus 800 Roadster name. The power is available at 5,500 RPM, while the torque is most impressive – 1420 Nm (1047 lb-ft), is felt even at 2100 RPM. For the safety of the driver, torque is limited to 1100 Nm (811 lb-ft).
The powerful V12 engine is mated with an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission and provides a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
Part of the technical equipment, of course, are the limited-slip differential adjustment or the suspension module that can lower the ride height by 25 mm (1in).
Without any optional equipment, Brabus 800 Roadster price is around $214,500, including destination fee (and the gas-guzzler tax for US).
