Vauxhall Mokka – Full details and Official pictures

Vauxhall Mokka was officially presented at Geneva Motor Show, and represents a totally unknown segment for the Germans. Opel becomes the first German manufacturer that dares to enter the sub-compact SUV segment.

The new Vauxhall Mokka model has five seats and can be ordered in both four-wheel drive versions, as well as versions with front-wheel drive. Customers are provided with manual or automatic transmissions, and the engine range includes two petrol units and one CDTi diesel unit, and the Start/Stop system as standard.

Vauxhall Mokka – Engine & Design & Price

Vauxhall Mokka is offered in the company of three engines, two of which are turbocharged.

The entry-level unit is a 1.6i aspirated petrol engine developing 115 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 155 Nm available from 4000 rpm. In terms of fuel efficiency, it has a combined mpg of 43.5 (6.5 l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 153 g/km.

It is followed by a 1.4 Turbo with 140 horsepower at 4,900 rpm and 200 Nm torque available from 1,850 rpm. Fuel efficiency of 44.1 mpg (6.4 l/100km) and 149 g/km CO2 emissions.

The top version is a 1.7-liter CDTi diesel engine, which develops 130 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and a 300 Nm torque available between 2,000-2,500 rpm. In terms of fuel economy, it has a combined mpg of 62.8 (4.5 l/100 km) and 120 g/km CO2 emissions.

The 1.6-liter version it is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.4 and 1.7-liter versions can be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.7-liter engine can be coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox as optional equipment.

In standard, Vauxhall Mokka has electronic stability system (ESC), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), Descent Control System (DCS) and traction control. All Mokka variants, with the exception of the 1.7 CDTI automatic transmission, are fitted with the Start/Stop system for fuel efficiency. The sub-compact SUV model can be ordered in the company of a AGR certified ergonomic seating system – “Aktion Gesunder Rücken eV”.

In addition to the last generation Flex-Fix bicycle support able to carry three bicycles, Mokka can be ordered with features like 18-inch alloy wheels (standard for Enjoy and Cosmo), AFL+ adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, the Lane departure warning system(LDW) and more.

Vauxhall Mokka is surprisingly roomy, with a 4278 mm length, 1654 mm height and a wheelbase of 2555 mm accommodating 5 people in appropriate conditions and a luggage compartment volume of 1372 liters.

The name of this model was inspired by the small and round coffee beans of the “Coffea Arabica” variety. The drinks from Mocca coffee bean extract are sophisticated and refined, high quality and full of energy. Opel believes that these attributes characterize their new sub-compact SUV and decided to use this name in all markets.

The starting price is £16,995.00 (OTR) for Mokka S trim level with the 1.6i engine, while the top price of £23,490.00 (OTR)is achieved by the Mokka SE trim level with the 1.7CDTi engine.
