Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 – Official Information

Mercedes-Benz G-Class, an iconic model, received a 6×6 pick-up version, equipped with a 544 horsepower V8 engine. The result is called G63 AMG 6×6 and will be sold as a series version by the German manufacturer. In terms of price this extreme version of G-Class will most likely cost triple the standard version of G63 AMG (137.000 euros on the German market). Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 Specs

6×6 pick-up version of G-Class is based on an Australian army truck used by military. That one had a 3.0-liter diesel engine and five-speed automatic transmission, while this civilian model has a V8 twin-turbo 5.5-liter that develops 544 hp and 560 lb-ft (758 Nm) of torque, completed by a seven gear 7G-Tronic transmission. Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 has a length of 5867 mm, a width of 2111 mm and a height of 2209 mm. Compared to a standard AMG G63, this new variant comes with 6×6 traction, is 1105 millimeters longer, 226 millimeters wider and 272 millimeters taller.

Axel Harries, head of development of G-Class, says that the model accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than six seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 100 mph (160 km/h). Average fuel economy in the NEDC cycle is said to 13.07 MPG US / 15.69 MPG Imperial (18 liters/100km). Ground clearance is 460 mm, weight is 3775 kg and G63 AMG 6×6 can carry 650 kg.

After all these changes we will probably have a new off terrain king. Mercedes Benz already thought of that and added occupant protection. That’s right, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 has a stainless steel protective cage.
