Jeep brings six new concepts at Easter Jeep Safari 2013, an event dedicated to off-road, where thousands of enthusiasts will witness Jeep’s skills in rough terrain. These concepts mark the anniversary of 47 years of the American brand. The 2013 edition of Easter Jeep Safari also marks the 11th Jeep participation in this event, which will try to attract as many fans of the brand as possible. Of these, five concepts are modified versions of Wrangler and sixth is Grand Cherokee improved.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is the most extreme Grand Cherokee ever seen before, highly modified by the American manufacturer. It comes with all necessary changes for off-road such as a EcoDiesel V6 engine and equipped with 17-inch off-road tires. Front grille, side wings and side skirts were equipped with matte black ornaments. This variant has no winch or rollcage as it was not developed for competitions. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Of all the five Jeep Wrangler concepts (Mopar Recon, Stitch, Sand Trooper II, Flattop and Slim) Stitch concept is the coolest one. He is missing some doors, some sections of the body and the ventilation system is gone. Equally interesting is the Jeep Wrangler Flattop, a model without any side windows , without a B-pillar and a windshield half its normal size, which provides a great outdoor experience.
Now let’s present these 2013 Jeep Concepts shall we?
Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2013 Concepts
The first on our list is Jeep Wrangler Stitch Concept which follows the Wrangler Pork Chop Concept presented by Jeep at the Easter Jeep Safari 2011. Based on the Wrangler Rubicon, and after loosing most of its exterior parts, the car now weighs 1360 kilograms (2.998 pounds). This value was achieved by adding a carbon bonnet, a chromed tubular roll cage and other aluminum parts. The windshield is shortened and the seats were taken from an SRT Viper and nicely dressed up with fabric. We also see custom DynaTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears and ARB front and rear lockers.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk II Concept is painted in orange with matte black roof. It figures that Jeep would do a second go-round of the concept, seeing as the first model eventually found its way into production. We find some lines borrowed from Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Mickey Thompson 35″ off-road tires. Under the bonnet, a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine capable of delivering 240 hp and 419 pound feet of torque.
The Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper II features a fabric roof, hook, vented bonnet, Mopar wings, LED daytime running lights and 40″ off road tires. This Jeep was fitted with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine delivering 375 hp and 400 pound feet of torque.
The Jeep Wrangler Flattop has the same changes applied on Sand Trooper II except that it has a metal roof, lower windshields, Katzkin leather seats, bronze ornaments and Mopar floor mats especially installed for mud.
The Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon has a “Stinger” bumper, 4-5″ lift kit, LED daytime running lights and beadlock wheels with off-road 39″ tires. The performance is offered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine with 470 hp combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Finally, Jeep Wrangler Slim Concept with new bumpers, 2″ lift kit, new air intake, black leather interior and CB radio. Jeep Wrangler Slim Concept is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine and comes with 17-inch forged beadlock wheels.
