Porsche Macan and BMW X3 have a new rival built in the UK: Jaguar F-Pace promises the same charm as the rest of the Jaguar models, but in a complete atypical package.
The interminable teaser series we had small pieces of the latest model of the Jaguar ended on the evening of Monday, September 14, at which time the British brand has raised the sheet on the first SUV in its history 80 years. The new Jaguar F-Pace is a gamble for the brand in Albion, because it falls within the area occupied by Land Rover, but market analyzes made by marketers of the brand show the potential of such a SUV is very high in terms of sales volumes.
Altogether, the new F-Pace is presented as a crossover built on the platform that Jaguar produce XE and XF, for example, which means, in technical terms, the new SUV brand bases its construction on more aluminum and not out of the conventional Jaguar than the exterior dimensions. Incidentally, in the forms, Jaguar designers swear they kept the brand essence and push it further in a different package. And they partly right: the design of the new F-Pace find the familiar line that we have already seen the F-Type coupe or sedan XE and XF.
In size, Jaguar F-Pace approaching those of Porsche Macan model that will rival, moreover, in terms of dynamic properties and probably in Chapter price. In other words, F-Pace is as big as a BMW X3, featuring a generous wheelbase (2.87 meters) which is used entirely for passenger comfort and space. It is worth highlighting the classic and elegant design of the interior, the dashboard is dominated by a TFT display that will host the command center for entertainment systems. Note also that analog clocks can be replaced on request with a 12-inch diagonal display and the F-Pace comes with a Head-Up Display system that promises excellent visibility laser elements projected onto the windscreen regardless of weather conditions.
On the engines, F-Pace takes what is already providing XE and XF brothers. We are talking about a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that develops 180 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that gets 300 horsepower V6 or a 3.0-liter turbocharged gasoline leading power range available on the British model to 380 hp. Power is transferred using an eight-speed automatic transmission with four-wheel drive to all wheels, but under normal conditions favoring mention a propulsion division, so sporty. Speaking of this, the suspension is taken with small adjustments to the F-Type, and available wheels reach record size in this segment: 22 inch.
