The fourth generation of the luxury SUV Range Rover was officially presented after a few days earlier came the first photos online. The largest model in the Range Rover family retains the sobriety that characterized the general line of the bodywork, being somewhat similar to the previous generation, especially seen from the side. The big changes are coming to the front and rear, where the new Range Rover approaches a total changed design, but which integrates better in the design line of the Range Rover family.

The biggest novelty, however, is the aluminum monocoque chassis which allows the total weight of the new model to decrease by 420 kg (926 lbs) over the previous generation. This means that the new 2013 Range Rover is 39% lighter than the current one with a steel body.

Regarding the powertrain, the air suspension will be kept, for that comfort specific to the largest Range Rover model. Naturally, the 2013 Range Rover will have all-wheel drive managed by a new generation Terrain Response system. This system analyzes driving conditions and chooses the most suitable for the four-wheel drive.

Regarding the interior, it is just as luxurious, but the design is influenced by the younger Range Rover Evoque brother.

There are no clear data regarding the external dimensions of the new 2013 Range Rover, but the manufacturer says that space for rear passengers has been increased considerably and this means an increased wheelbase.

For the European market, customers can choose from three engines, one petrol and two diesel: a supercharged V8 petrol engine, and a 3.0-liter TDV6 or a 4.4-liter TDV8 diesel engine. All engines are coupled with an ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, the selector being on the already famous rotary knob.

The new 2013 Range Rover model will be seen at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September, and the first European deliveries will begin in January 2013.
