Pininfarina presented the first sketch of the Sergio concept that will also be unveilled at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. The exhibit is a roadster that honors Sergio Pininfarina, the former CEO Pininfarina. The overall design reminds us of Lamborghini Aventador J, another roadster with no windshield presented in Geneva last year.
Sergio Pininfarina – The man, the legend
In the four decades spent at Carrozzeria Pininfarina, Sergio was responsible for designing various Ferrari models, but his work also included other models such as Ferrari Testarossa, Fiat 124 Sport Spider, Alfa Romeo Spider (1966 – 1993) and Peugeot 406 Coupe. Last public appearance of Sergio Pininfarina took place in March 2008, when it was introduced in “European Automotive Hall of Fame”.
Sergio led the Pininfarina design house from 1966 until 2006, when he took over the Honorary President title. With the death of Sergio Pininfarina, the Italian design house lost its third leader in the last 46 years, after the death of founder Battista Farina in 1966 and his grandson Andrea Pininfarina in 2008. Sergio Pininfarina left us on July 3rd 2012…
