It is the case of a Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, the famous German model who went into production in 1953. The specimen we are talking about today is one of the first 167 built and is to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in March 2017.
The Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing that will be auctioned belonged to the former president of the Gullwing fan base, and went through several complete restorations. In 2007 the chassis was completely restored and in 2009 and the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine has been rebuilt. A lot of documents and photos can guarantee the car’s history.
On the outside, Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing comes with a dark blue body color and it has Rudge rims in the same shade. It also comes with a Becker radio and a set of Taris Charysyn suitcases . The interior comes with a brown leather upholstery and a wood steering wheel.
The Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing copy will be auctioned on 10 March, and specialists estimate that its price will reach somewhere between 1.2 and 1.4 million dollars.
