Hennessey has today published the first pictures and information about model Venom GT, the supercar with 1200 horsepower and reach 421 km/h, which aims to overthrow the Bugatti Veyron.
Hennessey today published the first pictures and information of the Venom GT supercar, expected to steal the supremacy of the Bugatti Veyron. American model aims to establish a new speed record for a series car, based on simple ingredients: a Lotus Elise body and an American V8.
The result is a supercar that weighs only 1088 kg in the basic version and proposed to start with 725hp , squeezed out from a 6.2 liters LS9 V8 engine. Gas unit, similar to those found on the Corvette ZR1 will be found but the other two types of power more potent: one with 1000hp and a peak of 1200 horsepower range. All engines will be connected to a six-speed manual transmission, Ricardo provenance.
Version of the “nervous” Hennessey Venom GT will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 421 km/h, much more over what the rival Bugatti Veyron promised.
To control resources under the hood, Hennessey has opted for a braking system
that includes carbon ceramic discs with a diameter of 15 inches, and six-piston calipers front and four back.
U.S. manufacturer plans to build about 10 units each year of the Venom GT supercar. To date, the manufacturer has already registered four orders, the supercar being sold for $ 600,000. After a simple calculation shows that this year will be placed on the factory gate only 6 units.
John Hennessey, founder with the same name, said that “it is not the first time that the Americans and British give their hands to create something spectacular. After 50 years, American P51 Mustang plane was preparing to enter history with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine. Today , Hennessey Venom GT promises a revolution of power weight ratio on the supercars market.”
