If you own a Bugatti Veyron, you certainly were blue when your neighbor has bought the convertible version called Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. Obviously, both of you have been shocked when the other neighbor purchased a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, the 1200 horsepower version. Well, starting with the Geneva Motor Show 2012 you can make it up in front of everyone, because the Franco-Italian brand offers you a new weapon: Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the 1200 bhp convertible version.

Who thought the Veyron died is wrong. The ultimate supercar drew again the attention of the journalists present at the Geneva Motor Show with a new variant. It’s about the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, or shortly and for everyone to understand “the fastest series convertible in the world.”

We visited the Bugatti stand in Geneva, where we found exactly what we were looking for: an extraordinary exclusive supercar that we’re not allowed to touch and we have only the honor and privilege to photograph it.

What interests us is under the aluminum and carbon fiber bodywork, that is the W16 engine: 16 cylinders, 1200 horsepower (895 kW / 1217 PS), 1500 Nm (1106 lb/ft), 2.6 seconds for 0-100 km/h (62 mph) and a top speed electronically limited to 415 km/h (258 mph), about half of the cruising speed of the airplanes.

Unfortunately, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse doesn’t come with radical optical changes, the only changes being made on the accessories and colors.

Wolfgang Durheimer, Bugatti president, said: “The early success of the Super Sport version convinced us to develop a convertible version. Again, our engineers have worked hard to show that Bugatti can constantly redefine their limits when everything is technically feasible. We did everything human possible to transfer the Super Sport’s performance on the Grand Sport. Our goal was to make a convertible in a unique experience at extreme speeds .”
