Just a year after the onset of Lamborghini Aventador, the Italians may launch a convertible version of the supercar. Some voices claim that the debut of Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is scheduled for Geneva Motor Show 2012.
Lamborghini Aventador Roadster: dream or reality?
Lamborghini could get a convertible version of the Aventador that will be disclosed at Geneva Motor Show 2012 in March. This model uses the same 6.5 liter V12 engine with 700 PS (515 kW / 690 hp) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque as its coupe brother.
Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will keep the all wheel drive system from the coupe and will be offered with of a seven-speed transmission. For now, there are no information about the performances of the new model.
Lamborghini Aventador Coupe needs only 2.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) and can reach a top speed of 350 km/h (218 mph). The model boasts with a braking system consisting of a set of 400 millimeters (15.7 inches) discs for the front axle, held in check by two calipers with six pistons, while the rear axle has 380 mm (15 in) discs with four pistons calipers.
Regarding the new retractable roof model, some voices suggest a dramatically improved system compared to the one found on the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster. Until now, Lamborghini haven’t confirmed any information about this model. However, the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster patent was registered in the Patent Office for United States.
