Bugatti Chiron: this is the name that will replace Veyron

Bugatti Veyron has already reached the end of its career and will leave the place to a replacement, scheduled to launch next year: Bugatti Chiron – the new model will be called that in honor of the eldest pilot who raced in Formula 1.

As Bugatti has sold all existing copies of Veyron , new information about the replacement of the supercar emerge.

According to Automotive News, the luxury car manufacturer has already chosen a name for the successor of Bugatti Veyron. It will be called Bugatti Chiron, in honor of the pilot Louis Chiron, originally from Monaco, dedicated entirely to the Bugatti brand, who ran for much of his career. Moreover, Louis Chiron is the man with most podiums for the Franco-Italian manufacturer.

He was honored in the past, specifically in 1999, when the designer Fabrizio Giugiaro drew a concept named Bugatti 18/3 Chiron. If we look at the photos we see that between Giugiaro‘s concept and the Bugatti Veyron there are clear similarities.

Louis Chiron and is recognized as the oldest driver who ran into Formula 1. In 1958 he was already 58 years old.

About the Bugatti Chiron that will take the place of the actual Veyron, we know that it will launch next year and will use a W16 engine with a cylinder capacity currently unknown. What we must remember is the total resources that this model promises to develop: 1340 horsepower, delivered AWD.
