The British car manufacturer has released today the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, its fastest model, excepting the exclusive One-77. V12 Vantage S has 565 horsepower and has a top speed of 205 mph.
Already impressing the fans with the new CC100 Speedster concept presented at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Aston Martin continues to celebrate its centennial launching new models. Preceded by a series of teasers, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S finally made its appearance today, the fastest production model in the history of Aston Martin excepting the One-77 supercar.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S – Engine & Design & Price
What makes the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage so special is what we find under the bonnet of the supercar. As the name suggests, power is provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine capable to deliver 565 hp at 6750 rpm and 457 pound-feet of torque (620 Nm) at 5750 rpm.
The powerful engine is matted with a 7-speed automatic Sportshift III AMT, able to help the new supercar to reach a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The sprint from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) has not been announced yet, but with all that power and a Kerbweight (estimate) of 1665 kg (3670 lbs), we can expect to make it below 4 seconds.
The electronic suspension comes with three settings (normal, sport and track), these programs change parallel and hardness of the steering wheel. The exhaust comes from the One-77 and is much lighter than the previous model.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage S has Bilstein dampers, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes (derived from those of One-77), and a stability control system that can be completely stopped. As expected, the car has alloy wheels (with 10 spokes) and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, a new, lighter, exhaust, carbon air intake, and a revised front grille – much wider, inspired by the CC100 Speedster concept.
Inside, the new model comes with carbon fiber bucket seats, black and yellow leather / Alcantara with contrasting stitching and a package of carbon fiber and aluminum inserts.
The release date has been fixed somewhere in the second half of this year, and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S price, although it is unknown, is expected to be over EUR 159,000 – the starting price for the current V12 Vantage ($180,535 / £135,000 OTR).
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez said: “The new V12 Vantage S is, simply, pure Aston Martin. It is extreme in its nature yet truly timeless in its design language.
“Learning from our successes on the track feeds the development of this type of car and I’m proud to launch such an exciting sports car in this, our centenary year.”
Dr Bez added: “The new V12 Vantage S is our most extreme Vantage to date – engineered to bring race car performance and technology to the open road.
