Paris Motor Show 2010: Porsche 911 Speedster

At the Paris Motor Show 2010, the Porsche ambassadors have displayed, besides the gorgeous 911 Carrera GTS, an exclusive cabriolet based on the convertible variant, having just two seats and a resonant name – 911 Speedster.

However, the new Porsche Speedster is not just a tribute dedicated to the famous 365 Speedster from the 50s, but also a celebration motive of 25 years since the creation of the Porsche Exlusive Department. Thus, Speedster is for those who desire to have a truly exclusive car.

What elements have made the new Porsche 911 Speedster unique at Paris Motor Show? Well, firstly, the shape of the windscreen, its suspension lowered by 60 mm, its wider rear side (adding 44 mm to the average Porsche dimensions) and the new aerodynamics of the vehicle .

Under the hood, there is a 3.8 liter six cylinder engine that develops 408 bhp and is paired to a PDK transmission. For those who do not know, the power of the new Porsche Speedster is increased by 23 bhp, in comparison with the power released by the 911 Carrera S. Also, Porsche 911 Speedster is equipped with PCCB ceramic brake disks and electronic suspension control system (PASM), both available in the standard variant.

The interior and also the exterior of the vehicle were designed by the Porsche Exlusive team, who chose black leather for the upholstery and the inimitable body color (Pure Blue)-made exclusively for 911 Speedster. Still, for the same price, customers may opt for the Carrera White hue. Moreover, the manufacturers have chosen to add some black stickers on the rear fenders and rims reminiscent of the famous Carrrera RS 1973, personalized front spoiler and custom door sills.

There will be produced only 365 units, most of which will probably remain in the collectors garages for whom the sum of more than 200.000 euros is not an issue. The Speedster will be available starting with December 2010, although we believe that all 365 units will have found by then their customers at Paris Motor Show 2010.
