2012 BMW M6 received an impressive design, as with any model developed by the Munich manufacturer’s Motorsport division. Germans equipped the 2012 BMW M6 with a new V8 twin-turbo injection that delivers a maximum torque of 680 Nm (502 lb/ft) achieved between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm with no less than 560 bhp (418 kW / 568 PS), provided between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) is achieved in only 4.2 seconds, and the first kilometer (1.6 mi) is covered in 21.9 seconds.
2012 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is the first four-door coupe in the history of the Munich brand, and was presented at Geneva Motor Show 2012. All versions of the 2012 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe have EfficientDynamics technologies and are equipped with an Eco Pro mode, which helps the driver reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The BMW M Performance range came with M550d, X5 M50d, X6 M50d and the M135i hot-hatch. The latter, although not a M pure-blood, will share the engine and gearbox with the old 1 Series M Coupe, but still, have several important changes.
The 2012 BMW M135i Concept has a 3.0-liter turbo engine which provides 320 horsepower (239 kW / 325 PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb/ft) of torque, enough to raise claims as the 1 Series M Coupe big brother, in the performance area. With an approximate weight to 1500 kilograms (3300 lbs) and a report of 220 horsepower per ton (2200 lbs), the new M135i Concept accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, ie as fast as 1 Series M Coupe. Maximum speed is still limited to 250 km/h (156 mph). In order to maintain a flawless ride, BMW changed the suspension, increased the wheelbase, lowered the ride height and installed new 18-inch wheels.
Get acquainted with the new BMW M Performance: 2012 BMW M550d, 2012 BMW X5 M50d and 2012 BMW X6 M50d. Propulsion of the new models will be provided by a completely new engine, developed by the BMW engineers helped by the M division. It’s the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel unit with, which received a supercharge with three turbines, a technological premiere for the German manufacturer. Developed in accordance with strict Euro 6 rules, proposed to take effect in 2014.
For each model, the powertrain characteristics are the same, equally impressive: 381 bhp (284 kW / 386 PS)provided at 4,000 rpm and 740 Nm (546 lb/ft) delivered between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. Another feature of the engine is the possibility to climb up to 5,400 rpm, a new feature for a diesel unit. The six-cylinder engine is assisted by a 6-speed automatic transmission, but also by the xDrive system and all the features of the EfficientDynamics technology.
Last but not least, visitors of the Bavarian stand at Geneva Motor Show 2012 will get to see the facelift for the 2012 BMW X6 range. Only a trained eye can see the timid aesthetic changes, but there are: the front spoiler was retouched, front and rear optical blocks received full LED lighting and the 20-inch wheels tires of 275/40 front and 315/35 back, also received a new design. For the interior, the main improvements are coming for the equipment and materials available on the options list. Under the hood will be the same 4.4 liter V8 bi-turbo, willing to offer 555 horsepower (414 kW / 563 PS) and a torque of 680 Nm (502 lb/ft) between 1,500 and 5,650 rpms. Through these resources, the 2012 BMW X6 M accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), electronically limited.
