The Taiwanese manufacturer Luxgen presented a new model designed to be marketed globally – Luxgen5, and aims the segment of BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
Taiwanese from Luxgen have big plans. After launching Luxgen7 SUV and Luxgen7 MPV, the Asian manufacturer comes now with Luxgen5 Sedan, an evolution of the Luxgen Neora electric concept, displayed at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show.

According to the official press release issued by Luxgen, the new Luxgen5 Sedan, expected to debut live in April, targets the global mid-range premium segment, the manufacturer intent being to be present on as many continents.
Starting from this premise, Taiwanese have thought a chassis with the Americans from Alstar and the car was tested by the British from Mira to meet demands of global markets.
In terms of interior design, customers expecting a premium model will meet with the futuristic Head-Up Display system and the Luxgen Think+ Touch multimedia system, equipped with the Android operating system developed in partnership with the mobile phone manufacturer HTC.
The driver will interact with car’s functions through a touch screen embedded into the center console.
Luxgen5 Sedan Engine
Under the bonnet of Luxgen5 will be two petrol engines.
The entry-level will be provided by a 1.8 liter VVT Turbo unit that produces 150 horsepower and 23.5 kgm (230 Nm), resources managed with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
The top version will be powered by a 2.0 liter VVT Turbo engine that delivers 170 horsepower and 26.1 kgm (256 Nm) of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Performances of this configuration is a sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 131 mph (210 km/h).
Although comes from Asia, Luxgen5 has a lot of safety features: active systems like ABS, EBD, BAS, ESC and TCS are not missing from the standard equipment.
