Volkswagen Beetle Convertible was presented in a first photo gallery. The convertible has a roof that folds in 10 seconds, but also a smaller trunk.
Although everyone expected it at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Volkswagen launched only yesterday the first images and information of the new Beetle Convertible. As expected, the German model retains aesthetic characteristics of its hard top brother.

Volkswagen Beetle Convertible – Engine, Design, Interior
Volkswagen Beetle Convertible has a powered textile roof that opens or closes in 10 seconds, up to a maximum speed of 48 km/h (30 mph). The canvas roof can be masked by a special cover that hides the mechanism and allows running smoothly at high speeds.
Inside, the cabin can guarantee space for four passengers and a trunk capacity of 225 liters (8 ft³), 85 liters fewer than the Coupé version. To ensure top level security, Volkswagen Beetle Convertible comes with retractable bumpers positioned behind the rear seats, front reinforced pillars and a set of airbags for head and thorax.
The engine range will include three petrol engines: 1.2 TSi of 105 hp, 1.4 TSi of 160 hp and 2.0 TSi of 200 hp. For those who prefer diesel, Volkswagen will offer 1.6 TDi of 105 hp and 2.0 TDi of 140 hp. The 1.2 TSi and 1.6 TDi units are also available in BlueMotion versions.
The launch of the new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible will take place only at the end of next month, at the 2012 LA Auto Show (Los Angeles Convention Center in late November/early December) with sales expected to start at the same time.
