Skoda has announced the name for the series version of MissionL concept presented at Frankfurt Motor Show 2011. Inspired by this concept, the sedan will be called Skoda Rapid and will enter into production in 2012.
The Czechs officially confirmed intentions of producing a series version based on the Skoda MissionL Concept. During the conference held at the Beijing Auto Show, the officials announced that the production version will be called Skoda Rapid.

Although the Skoda Rapid name reminds of the sedan sold in India, based on the Volkswagen Polo, Skoda said that the model which will be sold in Europe is different from that offered in the Indian market.
Skoda Rapid will be positioned between Fabia and Octavia and will be offered in Europe by the end of this year. The model will have a version built and sold only on the Chinese market, which will go into production in 2013.
The Skoda MissionL Concept, who inspired the new Skoda Rapid model, debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011.
The Volkswagen Group will offer one more Skoda Rapid version on the European market, which will sell under the Seat banner. This model will be called Toledo. Seat Toledo debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012, when it was exposed in a preseries-version.
The Iberian sedan has a length of 4480 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2,600 millimeters (176,4 inches). The strength of Seat Toledo will be the spacious trunk, which will provide over than 500 liters (17,7 ft³).
