The Kia K900 premium sedan will make its debut on the American market with the occasion of the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show (Press Days Nov 20-21, Public Days Nov 22-1 Dec), and will be offered in the company of a V8 engine.
Kia wants to launch the K9 model on the United States market, but under another name – Kia K900. The flagship model of the Korean car manufacturer will be marketed with V6 and V8 engines, and will be sold at a price comparable to that of a BMW 5 Series, as explained by the Kia representatives.
Kia K900 – Engine & Price
K900 Kia will be the most expensive model ever offered by the car manufacturer from South Korea in the United States of America. The top version will deliver 429 horsepower and will have a 5.0-liter V8 engine. The entry-level will be a 3.8-liter V6 engine and 333 horsepower.
The list of features will be generous, as Kia representatives explained, the role of this model is to demonstrate the engineering capabilities of the brand and to attract customers of the premium traditional models.
To enhance the premium spirit of the model, Kia will sell the new K900 only in certain dealerships from certain areas of the United States. The dealers which will be entitled to market the new Kia K900 will undergo a special training phase and will need to provide a dedicated marketing place.
According to preliminary information, Kia aims to sell from 3,000 to 5,000 units on the U.S. market, more than the platform brother Hyundai Equus, but fewer than other sedans from the Korean manufacturer’s range.
We’ll probably have to wait until closer to the Kia K900 on-sale debut to have an official price, but it will be somewhere between $50,000 and $70,000.
