Dacia Lodgy has a length of 4.5 meters (14.8 feet) and promises a considerable amount of luggage volume, even in the version with seven seats. For now, the complete technical specifications of this model were not presented.

In return, Dacia explained the choice of name for their new model: Lodgy. The name recalls the word Lodge (English thefreedictionary – “lodge”: n. A cottage or cabin, often rustic, used as a temporary abode or shelter; the group living in such a place; v.tr. To provide with temporary quarters, especially for sleeping ) and underlines the essential feature of this model: the ability to accommodate an entire family and its luggage.

Compared to Logan MCV, Dacia Lodgy is longer by 30 mm (1.2 in) and promises a more spacious boot. Dacia Logan MCV boasts a 198-liter (7 ft3) trunk in the version with seven seats and 700 (24.7 ft3) in the version with five seats, while Dacia Duster, a model with 200 mm (7.9 in) shorter than the new Dacia Lodgy, has a boot volume of 475 liters (16.8 ft3).

The officials haven’t given any information about the engines available on Dacia Lodgy, although we expect at least one petrol engine and a diesel in the range. The 1.5 dCi 110 HP (82.03 Kw / 111.53 PS) engine and 240 Nm (177 lb/ft) is the most likely candidate for the new Dacia MPV, and the 1.6-liter unit with 16 valves and 105 horsepower (78.3 Kw / 106.5 PS) could be offered on the entry-level versions of Dacia Lodgy.

Unlike the existing Dacia models, the new MPV will not be made in Mioveni. The Romanian manufacturer will assemble the new Dacia Lodgy at the Tanger factory for reasons of space. Renault invested nearly a billion Euros in the plant in Morocco to increase its competitiveness, and this is will be reflected in the production figures of the car.

Dacia Lodgy Price

Dacia Lodgy will be cheaper by 3-4,000 Euros than its main competitors (Chevrolet Orlando, Ford C-Max, or Volkswagen Golf Plus). The price will start at about 13,000 Euros (~ £10,700 / $16,600) and the premium version will be slightly over 18,000 Euros (~ £14,850 / $23,000).
