2013 Opel Adam, the smallest model in the German car manufacturer range, was finally presented to the world after a long teasing campaign and a series of unofficial photos. The new city car named Adam, is designed and manufactured in Germany.
Opel Adam is the new mini class model from the German manufacturer. It is designed as an urban car, the scale of its exterior being 3.7 meters (145.7 inches) long and 1.72 meters (67.7 inches) wide (without mirrors). Adam can carry four people in a generous space, says the official press release given by Opel. It wants to be an alternative to the practical Agila, for the clients who want a car with style and with multiple possibilities for customization.

2013 Opel Adam engine: initially be available with three efficient petrol engines (1.2 liter with 70 hp, 1.4 liter with 87 hp and 1.4 liter with 100 hp), combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. All drive systems are available with the ecoFLEX technology package, including the Start/Stop system to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Later, the model will receive a new generation of small gasoline engines fitted with turbocharger and direct injection. 2013 Adam Opel comes with a new approach in terms of equipment levels. It gave up the classic names used by Opel in favor of levels that correspond to three states of mind: Jam is unconventional, trendy and colorful, Glam is elegant and sophisticated and Slam is for those who have an athletic and energetic attitude . Customization of the Adam model is virtually unlimited, Opel offering a wide range of paints for the bodywork, three roof colors, many interior colors, decorative elements and a variety of upholstery for the stars-like LED illuminated ceiling and other inspired and distinct premium design.
In terms of design, Opel Adam has a retro look, but with a boldly and modern look. The model name is located on the rear pillar, a factor that contributes to the differentiation of Adam from the competing models. The new model uses wing-shaped daytime running lights, and headlights and taillights with LED technology.
The new 2013 Opel Adam comes with an advanced infotainment system that allows the connection of a smartphone (Apple iOS or Android) and displays it on the seven-inch high-resolution color touch screen monitor, which also provides access to various ergonomic functions quickly and intuitively, using five easy navigable menus.
Opel Adam also offers several systems including parking assistance. The driver can activate the system by pressing a button who identifies the nearest parking place. Then the system takes over the steering wheel to guide the car into the identified parking space. Also, Opel Adam is available with the SBSA system that monitors the blind spot of the exterior mirrors.
The wheels can be from 15 to 18 inches in size, the vehicles with 17 or 18 inch rims are available with a standard sports chassis, for a prompt response from the steering system. It uses a MacPherson suspension for the front axle, while on the rear has a torsion bar.
The new Opel Adam will be presented in a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show 2012 (September 29 to October 14). The first models will be available in the show rooms in January 2013.
