BMW M6 Gran Coupe – Design & Engine
This is the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the performance version of the four-door coupe. Anticipated by several teasers, spy shots and clips, the new model appears today before the public after several photos leaked on the internet; it can be expected that the official presentation will follow soon, and we won’t have to speculate for long.
As expected, BMW M6 Gran Coupe adopts the characteristics of any model bearing the signature of the performance division. The front is dominated by a spoiler with large air intakes, LED lights and a hood with pronounced lines.
The back of the car makes room for the four chrome exhaust pipes, a registered trademark of BMW M. We also have special rims and a carbon fiber roof – with a median line, presumably to improve aerodynamics.
Under the bonnet we find the same twin-turbo V8 engine. About its resources there are currently no information, but we can expect to have 560 horsepower (418 kW/568 PS), distributed to the rear axle with the help of a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
If the technical data is confirmed we can expect a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) achieved in around 4.4 seconds, close to the value of M3 convertible.
Doesn’t make sense to speculate for further details or technology, BMW M6 Gran Coupe will probably have the same technology as the M5 F10 sedan. That will be more than enough for us to label this car as evil, but look at the numbers on registration plates. Or do you believe in coincidences?
