2013 Audi RS6 Avant was finally revealed. It is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 560 hp and 700 Nm and is able to propel the German car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds.
2013 Audi RS6 Avant isn’t expected for an official unveil until the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which makes this photo gallery very special indeed! It’s not going on-sale until the middle of next year and not in North America.

2013 Audi RS6 Avant – Design & Engine
2013 Audi RS6 Avant is lighter, more efficient and more powerful than its predecessor, mainly due to the 4.0 liter TFSI V8 engine that achieves a combined fuel economy of 9.8 liters/100 km (24 mpg US, 28.8 mpg imperial), while developing 560 hp (418 kW/568 PS) and 700 Nm (516 lb/ft).
As usual, we find the standard quattro all-wheel drive system, and the model is offered with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. A novelty in the RS range that came with the new RS6 Avant is the adaptive air suspension, which analyzes the road conditions, the driver’s settings chosen and his behavior.
Compared to its predecessor, the new 2013 Audi RS6 Avant is almost 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter thanks to the 20% aluminum bodywork, along with many elements of high strength steel.
The 3,993 cc V8 TFSI engine has two twin-scroll turbochargers, which are mounted together with the intercooler between the cylinder banks. The two cylinder heads have exhaust ports located towards the interior and outwards intake ports, which allows a compact engine design and shorter routes for exhaust gases, offering an effective supercharging solution with minimal losses.
The maximum power of 560 hp (418 kW/568 PS) is achieved between 5,700 and 6,700 rpm, while maximum torque of 700 Nm (516 lb/ft)is provided between 1,750 and 5,500 rpm. The result is an astonishing time for 0-100 km/h (62 mph) of 3.9 seconds, the best value in the segment. Top speed on the standard wagon is 250 km/h (155 mph), while wagons fitted with the Dynamic package are able to get to 280 km/h (174 mph) and those with the Dynamic Plus package go all the way to 305 km/h (190 mph).
Audi operated numerous changes to reduce fuel consumption, the average value of the NEDC cycle is 40% lower than the previous generation. The 4.0-liter TFSI engine that equips the 2013 Audi RS6 Avant benefits from a thermal management system, a start-stop system in standard, and cylinder deactivation system which switches off cylinders 2, 3, 5 and 8 performing small and intermediate tasks. Cylinder deactivation system reduces fuel consumption by 5% in the European standard cycle, while in real driving conditions we are talking about an economy approximated to 10%.
