Opel Mokka – Sales in Europe 2013

Opel Mokka has reached over 110,000 units sold in just a year after its d├ębut. The German brand representatives estimated that the model could become the segment leader. From June 2012 until the end of June 2013, the Opel Mokka managed to reach and maintain third place in sales in its segment after Nissan Juke and the Dacia Duster. For example, in July this year, Opel Mokka has been sold in 43,548 units, while Juke got 66,605 units and Dacia sold 54,350 units. Analysts at IHS Automotive estimate that Mokka will not reach the number one spot in the SUV B segment, because the market is threatened by two new French releases: Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008.

Total sales of SUVs on the European market in the first half of the year increased by six percent, totaling 1.06 million units. Meanwhile, the European car market fell to 6.65 million units. Basically, SUVs and crossovers were able to cover 1/6 of the European car market and achieve a percentage increase equal to the total car market decrease.
