OFFICIAL: Opel Insignia produced 200,000 copies

Opel produced 200,000 units of Insignia, the winner in 2009 of the Car of the Year award in Europe.  Copy number 200,000 was made with enthusiasm by the Opel employees, who were supervised by Axel Scheiben, director of the factory in Russelsheim.

Car of the Year 2009 in Europe was very popular lately. In October last year, 150,000 copies in Russelsheim Insignia deserted factory gate, and in December their number increased to 170,000 units.

Copy bearing the number 200000 is an Insignia OPC and has a 2.8 liter V6 which unleashes 325 horsepower and 435 torque developed torque. Insignia OPC sprints from 0 to 100 mph in 6 seconds and can run with a top speed of 250 km/h. The model is equipped with four-wheel drive and was painted a blue nunata.

Orders for Insignia and Astra are a growing Opel therefore planning to introduce five additional exchanges in May and June of this year.
