Veeco RT1 – the green sports car
Veeco RT1 is an electric vehicle with sportive ambitions, presented both by the silhouette and the performance on which the Portuguese take pride. Despite its unusual appearance the model can be driven legally on all EU roads.
Veeco RT1 is equipped with an 107 bhp engine (80 kW/109 PS) coupled to a 16 kWh LifePO4 battery pack. The “green” model can reach a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph) and delivers a maximum torque of 450 Nm (332 lb/ft) from the very first rotation.
The 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is achieved in eight (8) seconds, a value comparable to that of a modern hot-hatch.
The sports electric car from the images above willl receive a series of improvements before going into production, Veeco announcing a summer launch, but major design changes aren’t expected.
The Veeco project, that created the RT1 model is the result of a partnership between VE-Fabricaçao de Veículos de Tracçao Eléctrica, LDA and the High Institute of Engineering of Lisbon (ISEL), funded by QREN.
