The concept is greener than any other vehicle displayed at Paris Motor Show, the manufacturers carefully choosing for their creation the color that best describes its intentions towards environment- “green”.
Based on the new Kangoo Be Bop, Renault Fluence Z.E. Concept received its name from “Zero Emissions”, being a fully electric car. The vehicle is powered by a 70 Kw engine with a maximum torque of 226 Nm. Its energy is supplied by a lithium-ion battery pack.
Renault ZE has been designed to minimize power consumption without sacrificing comfort in any way related to lighting and air conditioning. Moreover, the energy level in Renault Fluence Z.E. Concept is assured by a complex system of insulation, which consists of the exterior dye reflecting the sunlight and the heat-insulating layers. Through this system, the interior temperature is maintained as long as possible, reducing the energy consumption required for thermal comfort. Moreover, the solar panels placed on the car power a temperature control system, without being necessary to turn on the engine in order to star the air conditioning system- which functions even when the car is not running.
On the other hand, the exterior mirrors have been replaced by video cameras with low energy consumption, powered by the solar panels placed above the vehicle. The headlamps use light-emitting diodes, long life and low power consumption LEDs.
However, the most interesting aspect of the Renault Fluence Z.E. Concept is, in my opinion, its futuristic design. The concept places us one step into a better future. Renault Fluence Z.E. is characterized by smooth, curved lines and an innovative color chosen for its windows (green).
Interactivity and comfort are also standard specifications of the new ZE, presented this year in the Renault stand at Paris Motor Show. The vehicle recognizes the passengers from quite a big distance, emitting light signals. A linear display on the doors indicates the autonomy left, even before you start the engine.
The MMI system, equipped with charging stations is capable of indicating the closest park space and the autonomy level left. Information is broadcast from the vehicle to driver through a mobile phone connected directly to your dashboard. An important advantage of such a system is that it avoids the huge energy consumption of an onboard computer.
Renault Fluence Z.E. Concept is an adorable futuristic concept, which would be perfect for our crowded and polluted cities. It is a view towards a greener and livelier world.
