Paris Motor Show 2010: KIA Pop – Tinny electric concept

Oct 1, 2010

The Koreans from Kia plan to present at Paris Motor Show 2010 a new electric concept car,  Kia Pop that aims at city life.

However, they do not want to reveal much information about their new electric concept. Yet, we know that this tinny car is about the size of a Toyota Iq. It measures only three meters length, providing space for just three passengers: two seats up front and a third one in the back. The innovative asymmetric dashboard offers plenty of leg room for the front seat passenger. The luggage area of Kia Pop is limited to the space left between the rear seat and the left side of the car. It is also an all-electric vehicle, with zero emissions.

Kia hopes to bring through this concept “innovative design chic and dramatic styling to the city car segment”. So far, we can say that Kia Pop is clearly an unconventional concept which will surely became an interesting debating subject. For sure, the solution adopted for the doors is very unusual, while the windshield is basically represented by a high ceiling.

An interesting idea is that of Led taillights scattered in the back of the car, while the headlights adopted the LED technology.Kia Pop is the follower of the Ray Pop concept presented in the past. Ray represents the basis of the first plug-in hybrid car which Kia will produce.

Kia Motors will reveal more details about the Kia Pop Concept at the time of the Paris unveiling, on September 30th, this year.
