To celebrate 75 years since the launch of the BMW 328, the Bavarians have created a modern interpretation of it. Called 328 Hommage, the BMW concept car has a series of characteristic elements from the famous ’30s model.
75 years ago, the German manufacturer BMW would launch one of its best models. We talk about the BMW 328, a beautiful, powerful ,light car, that manage to dominate the circuit races of the time. To celebrate in the right way reaching 75-year-old, BMW officials will present this weekend at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este from Italy, the BMW 328 Hommage concept car.
At the core of BMW concept car is another concept – Vision Connected Drive shown in Geneva and represents a modern interpretation of the model from the ’30s. BMW 328 weighed 830 kilograms and the new concept was based on same principle of weight reduction. Thanks to carbon fiber reinforced with plastic, BMW 328 Hommage manages to weigh only 780 kilograms. Another common element is the traditional BMW grille that has been drawn vertically.
Also, BMW designers have not forgotten any of leather straps on the hood and on the inside, ultra-modern digital watches combines perfectly with the classic control buttons. Under the bonnet of the BMW 328 Hommage we find a 3.0-liter six cylinder engine. Power and performance have not been announced, because 328 Hommage will remain only at the design study stage.
