BMW 4 Series Concept was unveiled trough a photo gallery and official information. The concept model is the successor of the old 3 Series Coupe. After an agonizing wait for the BMW fans, sprinkled with a series of spy shots, the Germans decided to reveal in a world premiere the new BMW 4 Series Concept, the coupe version of the current 3 Series. The three-door derivative currently comes as a concept, probably in 2013 will make its appearance in the final production version, most likely at the Geneva Motor Show.
BMW is looking to create a logic of numbering and, after coupes with tradition as 6 Series and 8 Series, proposes to public a medium segment coupe, labeled with an even number, in hopes of better clearing its intentions for the range delimitation. The new BMW 4 Series Concept takes the old 3 Series Coupe legacy and promises to carry on forward, relying on its own new personality and a completely different design from that of the 3 Series sedan.

BMW 4 Series Concept – Design & Engine
Besides the remarkable aesthetic features, BMW 4 Series Concept comes with new dimensions. Citing the Bavarian manufacturer press release, the new concept coupe proposes a wheelbase of 2810 mm (110.6 inches, 30 mm more than the current 3 Series).
The front track also increased by 35 mm (1245 mm – 49 in) along with the back track, now with 80 millimeters more (1593 mm – 62.7 in). Width of the model is also higher than the sedan’s, with exactly 44 mm (1826 mm – 72 in). Last but not least, BMW 4 Series Concept is longer (4641 mm – 182.7 in) and has a roofline lowered by 16 mm (1362 mm – 53.6 in).
At the level of exterior design the 4 Series individualizes itself through the futuristic appearance of front and rear bumper with very large air intakes, outlined using aluminum or chrome rods.
The front grille, enclosed for aerodynamic reasons, is connected to the front optical blocks, thus preserving a certain similarity with the 3 Series.
To better individualize the coupe, BMW has prepared a set of hexagonal LEDs, the same shape found at the front bumper ornaments, and also a unique paint named Liquid Metal Silver.
The profile is dominated by strong lines, by the large bosses and discreet air vents, embedded in the front wing. Finally, the profile marks the belonging of the model to the coupe segment with a C pillar inclined towards the back.
The rear was also strongly individualized with powerful LED lights, L-shaped, specific to the other BMW models. The exterior package is completed by a set of 20-inch alloy wheels with a new design in range.
For interior design, BMW engineers chose to seek the assistance of the BMW Individual customization division. With their help, BMW 4 Series Concept manages to provide a driver-oriented dashboard with strong lines, simple and with ergonomic features.
The dashboard lines continue on the door alongside trim inserts with aluminum and noble wood. The backseat, has a special seating contour, a contour that divides the space in only two places.
To further emphasize the exclusive character, BMW 4 Series Concept comes with leather ties, woven by hand and applied to the doors and center console, Chestnut door handles, embossed and illuminated thresholds with the BMW Individual logo.
About the engine range there are currently no official information, but will probably have the same units found on the four-door BMW 3 Series.
