Goodyear representatives announced that they have developed tires that fitted the largest semi-truck in the world, the Nicolas Tractomas TR 10 x 10 D100 able to haul a road train of 535 tons.
Nicolas Tractomas TR 10 x 10 D100, the largest semi-truck in the world, will be equipped with Goodyear GP-2B tires. The announcement was made by the tire manufacturer representatives. The Guinness World Records title of the largest semi-truck in the world belongs to this model.

The Heavy Haulage Truck engine develops 1,000 horsepower and is able to pull a road-train of 535 tons. The Goodyear GP-2B tires are 385/95R25 in size, and will be shown at the Nicolas Industrie SAS booth at Bauma 2103 (International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment), which takes place in Munich until 21 April 2013.
The Heavy Haulage Truck was commissioned by the LCR mining company and will operate in the the Australian state of Queensland, where it would draw a road train consisting of several trailers. Nicolas Tractomas TR 10 x 10 D100 has a 40 tons mass, a length of 12.5 meters (41.4 ft), a width of 3.5 meters (11.4 ft) and a height of 4.5 meters (14.8 ft). The engine is provided by Caterpillar, a 27-liter diesel that develops 1,000 horsepower. The towing operations will be developed to a maximum speed of 50 km/h (31 mph).
According to Goodyear, the GP-2B is a multi-purpose level 100 tire, most often used on mobile cranes or off road operations and is designed to be used for a long time, aimed to ensure a high level of lateral traction under demanding conditions, and a smooth ride on challenging road surfaces. Goodyear is one of the largest tire companies in the world with approximately 69,000 employees. The company manufactured its products in 52 factories located in 22 countries.
