Bentley Continental GT3 – Design, Interior, Engine
Bentley brings to the 2012 Paris Motor Show a competition version of the Continental GT. It’s the new GT3, a model that was unveiled during Volkswagen Group’s conference.
Despite all changes, Bentley Continental GT3 has a mass of only 1250 kg (2755 lbs). At the aesthetic level, the model moves away from the standard version with an aerodynamic kit and a set of alloy wheels, fitted with competition tires.
Inside, all comfort items found on a Continental GT were removed and a roll cage was installed. Anew set of racing seats and controls created exclusively for motorsport were added as well.
The new Bentley Continental GT3 is equipped with an MSB platform, which will also be found on the next Porsche Panamera. This platform is made from a mixture of steel and aluminum, which helps reduce the total mass. The MSB platform configuration allows both rear-wheel drive configurations and four-wheel drive configurations. The new generation of the Continental GT has two engines on offer, a 4.0-liter V8 and a V12 engine but it is not clear what Bentley will chose for the competition version.

Next up, we have the Bentley Continental GT Speed presented as a new version of the Continental GT, which reaches 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2.
The model has all-wheel drive, a W12 engine of 625 hp and 800 Nm and a dedicated aesthetic package. Also, customers can choose new color shades for this version of Continental GT Speed and the interior can be ordered with smoky aluminum trim finish or carbon fiber trim.
Bentley Continental GT Speed needs 4.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, while the top speed of the variant is 330 km/h (205 mph). Acceleration from 0 to 160 km/h (100 mph) is achieved in 9.0 seconds, half a second faster than a 575 hp Continental GT, as fast as the previous generation version of the Supersports Continental.
The combined fuel efficiency of Bentley Continental GT Speed is 14.5 liters/100km (20 mpg imperial, 17 mpg US) and CO2 emissions are 338 g/km.
The new model is already available for order even if its debut is scheduled at the Moscow Auto Show. Deliveries of the fastest street model ever produced by Bentley are starting in October 2012.
