And if before we talked about a V6 engine mounted under the hood of the Cayenne, from now on we have a new engine in offer – a V8, introduced by the particle S, which aims to increase performance while the consumption and emission numbers don’t change very much.

It is not an engine developed from scratch by Porsche but an existing unit from the Volkswagen Group’s organ bank: a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 382 horsepower (285 kW/387 PS) and 850 Nm (627 lb/ft), figures that should attract those interested in performance and at the same time wanting a decent consumption.

Speaking of fuel efficiency, the Germans officially announce for 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel – 8.3 liters/100 km (34 mpg imperial, 28.34 mpg US) and emissions of 218 g CO2/km, with the Start-Stop function. In fact, Porsche boasts from today with the only V8 diesel SUV in the world with a lower consumption of 8.5 liters/100 km and also the only microhybrid V8 diesel SUV in the world (Start-Stop system and reuse of the energy generated from braking).

Regarding the performance, 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel does not disappoint: 5.7 seconds for 0-100 km/h (62 mph) and a top speed of 252 km/h (157 mph).

Obviously, the new 2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel receives all the benefits and the dynamic systems from the S versions from Porsche: PTM all-wheel drive and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus.

2013 Porsche Cayenne S Diesel can be ordered by customers who want top diesel performance from a starting price around 86,000 Euros, nearly 20,000 Euros more than the V6 diesel counterpart.
