2013 Ford Fiesta Facelift – Design, Interior, Engine
The 2013 Ford Fiesta adopts a new front grille, that we just saw on the new Fusion/Mondeo and on the C-Max Hybrid. This detail leads us to believe that we already face a new design philosophy for the European market.
The front optical blocks are now more elongated, but with a little more discreet look. As expected, the headlights will receive LED lights. Finally, the facelift gets a reshaped bonnet and a new design of rims.
For the interior, Ford wanted to improve ergonomics. The Americans has repositioned the controls of electric windows and mirrors on the driver’s door for ease of access. Furthermore, the steering wheel design, the colors of the dashboard instruments and the automatic air conditioning were also modified. Materials will also be superior in terms of quality.
2013 Ford Fiesta Facelift gets the SYNC interconnection system, already famous on the Ford models from US. It allows voice dialing of numbers from the phone book or selection of favorite songs, it also has Bluetooth and USB connections.
The SYNC function has Emergency Assistance, which involves dialing an emergency number in case of accident, and also provides an active safety systems – Active City Stop, responsible for avoiding collisions at low speeds.
The only novelty in terms of engines on the 2013 Ford Fiesta is the 1.0 liter Ecoboost engine. Awarded with the title “International Engine of the Year 2012”, it is expected to deliver record fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
