The Volvo representatives are very confident in the success of the Volvo V60, estimating that, in Europe will have at least 50.000 customers annually. Basically, it seems that the Europeans will buy 90% of the Swedish wagons.
The Swedish officials are really praising the new model, stating that Volvo V6 is much more similar to a coupe than to a wagon. They wished to emphasize the car’s dynamism, the third side windows being quite small and the ceiling being rather plunged. Practically, the V60 is very close to the idea of shooting wagon.
The rear side is not surprising, the stylized “X” formed by the signal lights being already known from the XC60 SUV. However, the rear side of V60 has a very original aspect, being obvious its pronounced individualism.
Despite its highly successful sporty look, V60 is also a practical vehicle. Even if V60 is not intended to break records in terms of interior space, the trunk capacity is of 430 liters and the car has a 5-seat configuration.
On the other hand, the ergonomics and modularity levels are high, the seats being split 20:40:20, and the headrests are electrically retractable. In addition, they do not occupy any space when seats are folded, resulting a perfectly flat surface for transporting bulky objects.
Otherwise, the new Volvo V60 displayed at Paris Motor Show has the same technical package evolved from the S60 sedan. Optionally, there are available Four-C systems (electronic control suspension) and four-wheel drive AWD system (which is standard on the T6 version). Among the electronic safety systems available we mention the presence of AUC (Advanced Stability Control), DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control), Pedestrian Detection System or the City Safety package.
The most powerful V60 version will be T6, with a turbocharged 6-cylinder 3.0 liters engine that will be able to release 304 hp. The range of gasoline engines will include a T5 version (2.0 liters, 240 hp), T4 (1.6 turbo, 180 hp) and T3 (1.6 turbo, 150 hp) and a 2.0 T of 203 hp. The diesel engine range starts with a 1.6 D Drive (1.6 liters, 115 hp), followed by two five-cylinder engines: D3 (2.0 liters, 163 hp) and D5 (2.4 liters, 205 hp).
