ŠKODA came at Geneva Motor Show 2013 with their best-selling model in the range, Octavia, available in three “flavors”: Skoda Octavia Sedan, Skoda Octavia Combi and Skoda Octavia Combi 4×4. We followed this special launch of the Czech.compact.
The Czechs prepared for the Geneva Auto Show the new generation – Skoda Octavia 3 and the new Skoda Octavia Combi. Besides the two new-generation compact models, the Czechs brought a mini surprise in the form of Octavia Combi 4×4, an all-wheel drive version of the break based on the 2013 Skoda Octavia model. As 2012 was a records year for Skoda, as the brand recorded top sales and a deliveries increase of 6.8 percent , the Czechs decided to rent a 2,000 square meters stand , which they filled with ten of the new Skoda Octavia, surrounded by beautiful hostesses.

In the moments before the Skoda Octavia’s launch , the audience, composed of journalists and photographers surrounded the stand of the Czech brand . Designed in white and decorated with green accents, Skoda stand exudes simplicity and tries to bring the visitors to the objects that really matters to a auto show – the cars. Sure, the Czechs were also thought in terms of animation and so the hostesses were present, all dressed up in elegant white dresses.
While other manufacturers booths focused on one element or another, Skoda focused on the new generation of Skoda Octavia, ten of this units being present at the stand on the first day of release. In the second press day at the Geneva, the stand also includes other novelties, like Fabia Combi Monte Carlo and Roomster Noir, a special edition. The two special editions will be accompanied at the Skoda stand by Laurin & Klement’s versions of Superb Combi and Yeti and two versions of Rapid. This formula will be also preserved for the public open days.
The first day of the Geneva Auto Show made us stand in front of a well organized Skoda booth, with adequate space between the exposed cars, so that the viewers and the photographs to reach the goal without getting tangled with each other. After the conference ended, the Czechs from Skoda chose to let the models to speak for themselves.
Skoda Octavia Combi 3 version comes with a novelties set, some of them being premiers for Skoda, such as the Multi-Collision Brake system. The customers can order up to nine airbags, a thing that’s promising more security for the new generation of Skoda Octavia 3. In addition, the interior is now more spacious and the height is slightly higher than the sedan version. Skoda Octavia Combi offers a boot space of 610 liters (21.5 ft³) and when you fold the seats this value rises to 1740 liters( 61.5 ft³).
In terms of engines, the range includes four TDI’s and four TSI’s, which are providing between 86 and 180 horsepower. The top TDI, a 2.0-liter engine of 150 hp is offered in two different versions: a four-wheel drive version and a version with front wheel drive.
The new 2013 Skoda Octavia Combi will be commercially available starting with the en of May this year.

The new ŠKODA Octavia Combi is the perfect interplay of form and function. A Combi that shows that even a large car can be beautiful,” explains Welsch.
As with the new ŠKODA Octavia limousine, the new Octavia Combi concentrates on the essentials artistic lines– both inside and out. The clear, precise forms, sharp edges and distinctive proportions immediately catch the eye. “You don’t need any gimmicks or excessive decorations to have an attractive car, but rather a clear style that is timeless and remains appealing over many years,”, says design chief Kabaň. “That is what the new Octavia Combi stands for.”
