2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI – Engine & Design & Price
2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged petrol direct-injection engine, available in two power versions of 220 (standard GTI) and 230 ponies (GTI Performance). Both engines deliver a maximum torque of 350 Nm (258.11 lb-ft) delivered between 1,500 and 4,600 rpm.
The standard version of Golf 7 GTI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 246 km/h (153 mph). 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
Regardless of the power version, 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI has as standard the Start-Stop system and is Euro 6 compliant (European emissions standard that takes effect in 2014). Matted with a six-speed manual transmission, Golf GTI has a mixed fuel efficiency of 6.0 liters/100 km (39.2 MPG US / 47 MPG Imp.) and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.
Paired with an optional six-speed DSG automatic, the mixed fuel consumption rises to 6.4 liters/100 km (36.7 MPG US / 44.1 MPG Imp.) for the standard version, ie 6.5 liters/100 km (36.2 MPG US / 43.4 MPG Imp.) for the GTI Performance version, while CO2 rises to 148, or 159 g/km. The Golf GTI Performance version has a front axle differential lock (VAQ).
2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI preserves the traditional touches of the sports model from Wolfsburg. On the exterior, we have small aesthetic changes from the standard version of the Golf, a set of 17 inch alloy wheels, two chrome exhaust pipes, a rear air diffuser, a set of side skirts and a sport suspension.
At the interior we find sport seats covered in Clark upholstery, preserving the “tartan” model of the famous Golf GTI. Additionally, the interior has a sports steering wheel, GTI dashboard gauges, GTI interior trim, stainless steel pedals and a gearshift lever with the GTI logo.
On the German market, the new Golf GTI will be available from March 5th. 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI price starts at 28,350 Euros, VAT included.
